Twitter is planning to remove a ton of inactive accounts, and free Twitter handles by doing so

So, if you’ve been wanting to change your Twitter handle, well, you may soon be able to get the one you originally wanted. You can check how active a user who owns it is. If he/she is not, and on top of that is not logging in at all, that Twitter handle may become available. The thing is, you cannot know by simply checking their profile. Why? Well, Elon Musk clarified that this refers to accounts “with no tweets & no log in for years”. You cannot really know when was the last time someone logged in. Just because someone is not tweeting or something, that doesn’t mean he/she is not logged in, or has not logged in for a long time. We’re not sure if Twitter, or Elon Musk, will announce once this starts happening, but it’s possible. If that happens, we’ll let you know, and you can check whether a specific Twitter handle became available.

More changes are coming

This is just one of many changes Twitter made since Elon Musk took over, and many more will follow. As you all know by now, Elon Musk has fired quite a few employees since he took over, causing quite an uproar. Twitter also rolled out a number of features, and announced new ones are coming. Earlier today, we talked about a new feature that will roll out soon. You will soon be able to see if you’re shadowbanned on Twitter, and you’ll be able to appeal that decision if you are. We’re not sure what exactly shadowbanned means in the case of Twitter, but we’ll soon find out.
