These new features are either rolling out soon or should already be available. If you don’t see them, then you’ll want to wait just a little bit for them to reach your region.

These Gmail and Google Chat features make them more convenient

Starting off, Gmail is getting a new feature dealing with search. You already have the ability to search for emails using the search bar up top. However, with this new feature, you’re able to search within specific labels. So, if you have a label designated for your work emails, you can do a search only within that label and avoid other emails. This addition should be available now. While that’s true, we were following rumors of this since May. The next feature also deals with Gmail. This will give you related search results if your search comes up empty. If you do a search, and Gmail doesn’t find any emails with the keywords you put in, usually, you just get a “No messages matched your search” message. However, with this feature, Gmail will act just like Google or YouTube and give you a variety of results similar to what you typed in. This could really come in handy if you don’t know the exact wording of what you’re looking for. This last feature has to do with Google Chat. Along with Gmail, Google Chat benefits from new features that help make it a better communication platform. When you are searching for messages on Google Chat, the app will give you search suggestions just in case you need them. This feature is rolling out to the Android and iOS versions of the app by the end of the month. Since we are already pretty much at the end of the month, it won’t be much of a wait.
