According to the new report, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will top out at 25W fast wired charging, the same as the 2021 model. However, Samsung seems to have improved its charging algorithms this year. The source is claiming a 0 to 50 percent charge in just half an hour. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 only filled about 33 percent of the battery capacity in 30 minutes. Note that both models pack 4,400mAh batteries. Going by this, the upcoming foldable will charge fully from an empty state in just over an hour. Last year’s model took more than an hour and 45 minutes to get the job done with a 25W charger. Keep in mind that Samsung will not include the charging brick in the retail box. Elsewhere, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will sport a 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED display with 1000 nits of brightness. These specs are largely unchanged from last year. But Samsung is upgrading to the Gorilla Glass Victus+ both at the front and the back. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 feature Gorilla Glass Victus. The company first applied the “Plus” version to the Galaxy S22 series earlier this year.

Galaxy Z Fold 4 will see notable performance improvements

We already know that Samsung will equip the Galaxy Z Fold 4 with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. The new leak gives us an idea of how much of an improvement the chipset will bring over the Snapdragon 888 that power the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The CPU performance will reportedly see a 15 percent boost while GPU will deliver a 59 percent faster performance. On top of that, the NPU will also deliver a 68 percent performance boost. Along with these performance improvements and faster charging, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will also bring upgrades in several other areas. Most notably, it will see a design change from its predecessor, switching to a squarer shape. This makes the outer display wider, and more comparable to a regular smartphone screen. Improved cameras and a more optimized software experience are other highlights. Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 4 at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on August 10. The company will also take wraps off the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Watch 5 series smartwatches at the event.
